QT Breast Scan — Eligibility Screening

Please review the following before booking your appointment. If any of the items below apply to you, the QT scan may not be appropriate at this time, and a team member will reach out to discuss your options.

  • You may not be eligible if any of the following apply

Bra size outside A–DDD range

The QT scanner is optimized for bra sizes A through DDD. If your size falls outside this range, image quality may be affected.

Implanted cardiac device

The QT scan cannot be performed if you have a pacemaker or implanted defibrillator. Note: metal markers from a prior breast biopsy are safe and do not disqualify you.

Weight over 400 lbs

The scanning table has a maximum capacity of 400 pounds.

Limited shoulder or upper-body mobility

The scan requires you to raise your arm above your head and lie face-down. Significant shoulder mobility limitations may prevent a successful scan.

Unable to climb steps or move onto the table unassisted

Active open sores in the scan area will need to resolve before the procedure can be performed.

Open sores or skin breakdown on the breasts

The QT scanner is optimized for bra sizes A through DDD. If your size falls outside this range, image quality may be affected.

Currently pregnant or recently breastfeeding

The QT scan cannot be performed during pregnancy. If you have recently stopped breastfeeding, we recommend waiting 2–3 months before imaging for the most accurate results.

Not sure if you qualify? Call our office at (815) 271-7300 before scheduling. Our team will review your health history and help determine whether the QT Scan is appropriate for you. We want every patient to have a safe and successful experience.
